Calculation of Failure Function of Metals taking with Consideration of Deformation Path

In calculation or measurement of material failure function,the smooth and notched bar specimens are often adopted.During tension tests,especially from necking to fracture,the stress triaxialities vary,and are not held constant.As a basic material function which is widely used in computational simulation,the failure function should characterize the failure strain at different stress triaxialities under simple loading,not include effects of deformation path.This study presents a calculation method of failure function from tension tests of smooth and notched specimens based on ductile damage analysis in combination with numerical simulation and optimization algorithm.
