Experiments on the Parameters of Casing in Thermal Recovery Well and Its Applications

  Due to the critical work environment and the complexity of forces in the process of heavy oil thermal recovery,the safety of casings is severely challenged.In order to obtain the relations between temperature and casings parameters,such as the yield stress,ultimate stress,elongation,Young’s modulus,and stress-strain relation,creep law,the high temperature tests of casing materials are carried out in the MTS809 material testing system.Moreover,a field thermal recover well of Xinjiang oilfield is simulated as examples.By using the experimental results and stress-strain constitutive relation,the numerical models of formation-cement sheath-casing are established according to the geological structure and rock parameters.The stress and strain of casing along depth under different temperatures and the influence of strain cumulative damage are studied.The results indicate that the stress and strain of casing change suddenly at the site of deflection because the influence of bending loads.Moreover,the creep rate has a big effect on casing strain in thermal recovery well,which should not be neglected in the actual design.Finally,the study results can provide the basic parameters and technical reference to the strain design of casing in the thermal recovery well.
