Reasonable range of internal pressure of natural gas storage in rock salt mass
Internal pressure has a controlling influence on the stability of cavern of gas storage in rock salt mass.Stress analytical formulas of the rock surrounding cavern,governing conditions and reasonable ranges of internal pressure under static and cycle load conditions for spherical and cylindrical cavern were obtained through mechanical analytical method.Governing conditions were based on tensile failure condition,and plasticity model including Mohr-Coulomb criterion and Drucker-Prager criterion.Calculation results indicated that reasonable internal pressure ranges can prevent a shear or tensile failure of the surrounding rocks,and the internal pressure ranges based on Drucker-Prager criterion are more usable in practical engineering of salt cavern gas storage,because it takes intermediate principal stress into account and its characteristics of three dimensional stress state is consistent with the real force sate of surrounding rocks of cavern.
