Small Sampling Fatigue Test and Damage Modeling by Using Genetic Algorithm for FRP Composite Materials
In this paper,the fatigue behavior of materials comprised of epoxy resin with E-glass fiber reinforcement was studied by using small sampling coupons.And then a so-called small sampling up-and-down test method is employed to determine the fatigue limits with a given life.Next we propose a versatile method to modeling the fatigue life of fiber-reinforced composite material systems by combining different mathematical models with Genetic Algorithm (GA).The technique is a stochastic process that leads straight to different curves that predicts the trend of the experimental data without the need for any assumptions.Finally some calculation results show that these models,whose parameters are assigned by using the GA are all satisfied with the experimental data.The method of fatigue damage simulation presented should have a very good application prospect.
