The influence of mode Ⅲ static loading on modeⅠ fatigue crack propargation
The effects of mode Ⅲ static loading on fatigue crack growth under on modeⅠloading were investigated by using FEM numureical simulation and fatigue crack growth testing.From the numerical results it shows that the stress intensity factor KI decreases with the increasing of mode Ⅲ loading,and KIII increases with the increasing of mode Ⅲ loading.Under the same boundary conditions,KI of crack tip becomes lower and lower when it is near the neutral surface.In order to validate the FEM numerical results,the fatigue crack growth rate testing was performed.The experimental results show that the fatigue crack growth rate under modeⅠcyclic loading decreases due to mode Ⅲ static loading.Within a certain range,fatigue crack growth rate decreases with the increasing of mode Ⅲ static loading.
