A Case Study of SCC-induced Failure of AISI 4340 Studs

摘要：

　　One failure case of AISI 4340 studs material was investigated.The failure was consequent to stress corrosion cracking due to the combined effects of overloading,moist environment and susceptible material.After fracturing beyond a certain range in the radial direction,stress corrosion cracking ceased and crack propagation was controlled by fatigue.
