Comparison of Stayed-Cable Tension of XinBei Bridge by FBG Strain Gauge installed using Adhesive and EM tension sensor

  In this research we are investigating the tension in stayed cable of XinBei bridge,which located at Highway No.64 of SanZhong district,this cable stayed bridge has one pylon and symmetrically spreading cable stayed bridge which support bridge deck totaling 400 meters,200 meters at each side of the pylon,along the dike / embankment of SanZhong area.In this research we record and measure stayed-cable tension force by means of adhesive (instead of traditional method by welding) installed FBG (Fiber Bragg Grating) strain gauge as well as EM tension sensor.We also take into account the temperature effect on the measurement.We compared the result from experiment using these two different methods,and provide conclusion on each method about their how they perform as well as their accuracy.We hope that our experiment work can be beneficial for future adhesive installed strain gauge reading and tension monitoring work.
