Construction of an algorithm which provides the effects of the injection of different materials into blast furnace tuyeres

The Steelmaking industry shows a large technology evolution which certainly provides significant contributions for the development of any country. However,it is extremely dependent on fossil fuel energy. From this principle, the Pulverized Coal Injection (PCI) technique comes out.The injection of pulverized coal into the blast furnace tuyeres replaces part of the coke that is burdened in order to produce hot metal with cheaper reducer agent.Assuming the raw of materials (charcoal or coke) is getting scarce and, consequently, the cost to produce hot metal is getting higher, any decrease in the consumption of these resources should be aimed and will be crucial for the steelmaking sector survival in the next future.Furthermore,it has studying techniques of using alternative fuels replacing the charcoal, such as sugarcane bagasse, tires, plastics and coffee and rice husk. These materials once crushed in small grain size can be used in PCI,replacing in part the charcoal or even coke.Besides economy, those benefits allow the plants which use this system to suit better in the environmental laws by improving its sustainability. The goal of this present project is reach results of the behavior of the injection of pulverized materials on the carbon consumption trough the simulation of an combustion test.
