Development and application of mathematical models for extension of campaign life of blast furnace

摘要：

　　Wakayama No.4 BF was blown out at the age of 10,001 days (27 years and 4 months) in 2009,establishing the world record of the longest campaign life.To extend the campaign life of blast furnaces,technical development centering on mathematical models of a blast furnace have been made.By applying the technique to the design of inner shape of blast furnace and structures of hearth refractory,blast furnaces in new generation in Sumitomo Metal Industries,Ltd.,such as Kashima No.1 BF and Wakayama No.1 BF,have been planned greater than 25 years campaign life.
