Static Strain Aging in Fe-Mn-N Steel
Interstitial solutes and dislocations gives rise to three characteristic peaks in the internal friction spectrum of ste el:the dislocation-enhanced Snoek peak,the γ-peak and the Snoek-K(e)-K(o)ster peak.These internal friction peaks were used to study in detail the N-aging in a Fe-Mn-N bake-hardenable Nb-alloyed hot rolled steel.The relative amplitude of the γ -peak and the Snoek-Kê-K?ster peak is related to the degree of dislocation pinning by atmosphere formation.At low conte nts of solute N,an increased amount of strain will result in a transition from an internal friction spectrum with a domina nt Snoek-Kê-K?ster peak to a spectrum with a dominant γ-peak.
