Quenching and Partitioning(Q&P)Processing of Martensitic Stainless Steel
Quenching and Partitioning (Q&P) processing was used to stabilize austenite in the room temperature microstruc ture of the AISI 420 Martensitic stainless steel.The C content of the steel allow for the stabilization of a large austenite volume fraction at room temperature.The formation of austenite during Q&P processing was studied by dilatometry,magn etic saturation,and X-ray diffraction (XRD).
