Mechanical Behavior of the Constituting Phases in DSS during C reep Deformation

  DSS is subject to superplastic creep during the continuous.In the present study,the creep behavior of a 2205-type DSS during continuous annealing was studied by considering the behavior of each constituent phase.The creep defor mation studies were carried out in the temperature range of 1000oC to 1100oC and a tensile stress in the range of 5MPa to 25MPa.The stress exponent and the activation energy of DSS 2205 during the creep deformation were shown to be 1.2 8 and 177.4kJ/mol,respectively.The ferrite phase was found to show dynamic recovery and continuous dynamic recrystalli zation to occur whereas no evidence of dynamic recrystallization was shown in austenite phase.Mechanism of creep defor mation during the continuous annealing environment seems to be grain boundary sliding accommodated by grain boundary diffusion creep and it is assisted by the increase of high angle grain boundaries due to continuous dynamic recrystallizatio n in ferrite.
