Optimization of process parameters to enhance the efficiency of the sintering flue gas cleaning system
In order to fulfill all environmental requirements of the German authorities,a new sintering flue gas cleaning system was built in the sinter plant of ROGESA,a joint venture of AG der Dillinger Huettenwerke and Saarstahl AG.The system is based on the principle of entrained flow desulphurization.Since the facility was the first installation of this type in the field of sinter making at that time, various process and technical challenges had to be met. This paper focuses on optimization of process parameters to enhance the efficiency of the facility in respect to process stability, materials consumption and flue gas cleaning results.Influences and interactions of parameters, such as process temperature, cooling water injection, adsorption agent amount etc will be discussed. After the successful optimization, all targets of the first facility have been achieved, especially regarding the emission values of cleaned flue gas and the efficiency of materials used.Subsequently,a second, bigger facility for No.3 sinter machine was built and successfully taken in operation in 2011.Now,these facilities ensure the operation of our sinter plant under high environmental standards.
