On-line control of chemical composition and quantity of nonmetallic inclusions during steel secondary refining based on thermodynamic approach
The metallurgical process control system was developed to control steel chemical composition and nonmetallic inclusions characteristics during steel secondary refining. The system is based on thermodynamic calculation of metal-slag-gas and “metal-nonmetallic inclusions systems.High accuracy of the process modeling is due to the use of the theory of liquid oxide solutions by A.Ponomarenko, and to special algorithms for models adaptation. These algorithms allow to take into account peculiarities of different metallurgical units and the technological conditions. The description of the principle of the model functioning and examples of control of inclusions characteristics in practice are presented.
