Current Situation and Development of Refractories for Clean Steel Production
With the strongly restrict influence of resource,energy and environment factors on the developments of iron and steel industry,the improvement of steel quality have become much more important to reduce consumption of resource and emission,the low cost and high efficient clean steels metallurgy has been focused much more attention in the coming years in China.In many factors affecting the cleanness and consequent quality and properties of steel products,the composition and structure of the refractories is one of the key factors.In this paper,refractories selection principle for clean steel production according to their thermodynamic features is explained; refractories for tundish and flow controlling in continuous casting,which play important role to prohibit second contamination of molten steel,are introduced in detail.Moreover,new development of low carbon and carbon-free refractory materials are also described.
