Feasibility Study on HIsmelt Technology in China
The process of non-blast furnace ironmaking may break away dependence of coking coal for steel production.Developing low energy consumption and environment-friendly short process of steel production,improving product quality and structure,implementing integrated resource utilization,the above-mentioned direction is the development tendency of China iron and steel industry.Because of using less coking coal or disusing,Smelting reduction has wide development prospect in China.Compared with other smelting reduction technologies,HIsmelt process can cancel sintering,pelletizing and coking plants,use iron ore fines and non coking coal,realize low investment cost and less environmental pollution.By summing up production condition of Australia Kwinana plant,problems are as follows: low heat transfer efficiency,high FeO content in slag,such as low metal efficiency,the service life of refractory material,tapping process,iron and slag discharging,CFB preheater and waste heat boiler.If these problems may be resolved,HIsmelt process will be adopted and popularized as new process in China.
