Microstruce evolution and mechanical property performance during quenching and partitioning process
Q&P (quenching and partitioning) process is a novel heat treatment technology which could product high combination of strength and ductility.Austenization, martensite formation during quenching process, carbon partitioning and bainite formation during partitioning stage appeared in Q&P process. In this paper microstructure evolution and affection on mechanical property were analyzed by different heat treatment parameters during Q&P process on a new component steel designed in lab. Results showed that better elongation obtained at lower austenization temperature due to more ferrite appeared, after full austenization and partitioned at 250 ℃ (one-step Q&P),the tensile strength and elongation were 1655MPa and 16%,respectively,as for samples quenched at 250℃ and partitioned at 400℃ for 2min (two-step Q&P) were 1118MPa and over19%.
