The effect of High Pressure Roll Grinding on Improvement of Pellet Property

  The experiments were conducted on the study of one kind of ultra fine-sized iron concentrate which nearly 80% being minus 0.044mm in size.The preliminary studies indicated that this iron concentrate having medium ballability and higher bentonite addition rate because of the iron concentrate being characterized with flaky and spherical surface feature and such particle morphology was detrimental to the granulation of green pellet.Much more research work was carried out on how to improve the balling performance by processing this iron concentrate with high pressure roller grinding.The results demonstrated that the bentonite addition rate decreased and iron content increased correspondingly.However,the pre-heated pellet compression strength deteriorated slightly but the finished pellet strength increased markedly.Finally,it is confirmed that HPRG not only could improve the balling performance of coarse particle iron concentrate but also exert marked effect on ultra-fine size iron concentrate,the compression strength of finished pellets will also get increased.
