A new depth calibration and its applications in GDOES
A new method about the depth calibration in GDOES named layer mode was presented.The depth calibration can be created using reference coating materials with known coating depth and the mass fraction both in the coating and matrix,then the method can be used to analysis the samples similar to the reference coating.Detailed mathematical deduce was used to describe the principle of the calibration.Some methods were created using layer mode.Some samples,such as metallic coating on glass,copper coating on steel,galvanized sheet,were also analyzed and the results were good enough.The layer mode calibration could provide less information in the intermediate layer compared with conventional sputtering mode calibration.
