Study on the formation mechanism of viscous layer in blast furnace hearth

  The formation of a viscous layer on blast furnace hearth carbon brick hot face can effective reduce the velocity of hot metal along the wall and resist abrasion to the wall,and the key to form a stable viscous layer is to effectively reduce the temperature of carbon brick hot face and control the reasonable composition of hot metal.Through the establishment of hearth heat transfer model,the analysis results showed by reducing furnace temperature,reducing hot metal velocity along the wall,increasing the cooling intensity,improving the heat transfer capability of hearth lining,the temperature of carbon brick hot face can be reduced; According to the carburizing theory and solidification theory,the analysis results showed by promoting saturation of carbon in hot metal and controlling the content of element impacting the graphite carbon precipitation,a reasonable composition of hot metal can be controlled.At last,the concept of “reasonable hearth erosion profile was presented firstly,in the early period of the campaign,the rhythm of smelting intensity should be controlled well and to form a reasonable initial hearth erosion profile,by ensuring the masonry quality and optimizing hearth operation techniques,the reasonable hearth erosion profile can be formed.
