The Thermo-mechanical-corrosion Fatigue Behaviour of Cemented Carbides

  The thermo-mechanical-corrosion fatigue behavior of two WC-Co cemented carbides YGR60,YGH60 under cyclic loading and cyclic heating and cooling was investigated.The pH values of the cooling medium were 5 and 7,chosen to simulate the different aqueous solutions used to cooling down the roll collars during the rolling processes.The results show that for an equal fatigue life,regardless of the different cooling media,the corresponding stress amplitude of YGH60 is much higher than that of YGR60.Cooling media of acid liquor affect the fatigue behaviour of YGR60 more apparently than YGH60 when compared with cooling media of neutral water.The slope of fatigue curve of YGH60 is lower than that of YGR60 when both cooled down by neutral water.
