Influences of a Humic Acid on Potassium Monopersulfate Oxidation of 2,4,6-Tribromophenol by a SiO2-Supported Iron(Ⅲ)-Porphyrin Catalyst
2,4,6-Tribromophenol (TrBP),a widely used brominated flame retardant, functions as an endocrine disruptor. In the present study,an iron(Ⅲ)-5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)porphyrin was immobilized onto a functionalized silica gel.To investigate the effect of humic acid (HA) on the catalytic oxidation of TrBP,the influence of solution pH was measured. In the absence of HA,the degradation efficiency was not affected by the pH,while debromination was enhanced at pH 5-7 in the presence of HA.In addition, influence of the HA concentration was investigated at pH 7,and the pseudo-first-order rate constant decreased with an increase in HA concentration. However, more than 95% of degradation of TrBP was possible,if HA concentration was below 50 mg L-1.
