Link between Acetate Extractable Fe(Ⅱ) Accumulation and Pentachlorophenol Dissipation in Flooded Paddy Soils with Vicia cracca L.Addition
This study investigated the link between the acetate extractable Fe(Ⅱ) Fe(Ⅱ)NaAc accumulation and pentachlorophenol (PCP) dissipation in two flooded paddy soils amended with bird vetch (Vicia cracca L.) to better understand the effect of adsorbed Fe(Ⅱ) on PCP reduction. The results showed that:(1) Both bird vetch and iron oxide contents might play important roles in controlling Fe(Ⅱ)NaAc accumulation and PCP dissipation, whereas Fe(Ⅱ)NaAc accumulation and PCP dissipation were largely governed by soil microorganisms and organic matter contents other than iron oxide contents without bird vetch addition; (2) Fe(Ⅱ)NaAc might be of substantial importance in predicting the dissipation pattern of PCP to some extent.Further studies should be conducted to understand the role of soil microorganisms in the presence of bird vetch.
