Adsorption of Sulfamethoxazole on DOM-Suspended Carbon Nanotubes

  Dissolved organic matter (DOM) was reported to be an effective medium to suspend carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and thus can alter the surface property and transport of CNTs,which consequently change the environmental behavior of CNTs and their sorption properties with other contaminants.The adsorption of SMX on suspended CNTs and CNT aggregates was studied in this paper.The results showed that the SMX solid phase concentration on CNTs decreased with the increasing DOM concentration,however,the adsorption coefficients of SMX on suspended CNTs was 1-2 orders of magnitude higher than the adsorption coefficients of SMX on CNT aggregates.
