Organic Matter and Carbon in a Cambisoil after Incorporation of Biochar for Eucalyptus Benthamii
This study aimed to evaluate the leaching of biochar to 40 cm depth in the soil under Eucalyptus benthamii depending on dose application of biochar. The experiment is located in the town of In(a)cio Martin-PR,the property of Mr.Antonio Verones. It was used 3 treatments in randomized block design, being them:T1-0 t/ha,T2 -20 t/ha and T8-40 t/ha ofbiochar.Samples were collected every 5 cm,with the final depth of 40 cm.In each plot, three samples were collected to form a composite sample. For quantitation of soil organic matter (SOM) was used the method of incineration, while for total organic carbon (TOC) method used was,Walkey-Black (1934).It can be seen that biochar has decreased the quantities of organic matter present in soil, owing to the action of microorganisms decomposing organic matter. These results demonstrate the need for further studies and researches related to biochar in the soil.
