Effects of Low Level Uva Irradiation on Properties of Sw280/3218 Composites
The scheme of irradiation on the SW280/3218 composites was determined after the investigation of the ultraviolet A (UVA) of the sunlight indoor and fluorescent lamp.After UVA irradiation at the irradiance of 200μW· cm- 2,mechanical properties and the surface properties of GF reinforced epoxy resin composites were studied by XPS,contact angle,nano-indentation,and AFM respectively.The results show that there are no obvious changes of the mechanical properties (interlaminar shear strength,bending strength and tensile strength) of SW280/3218 composites after 4/7/10days UVA irradiation.UVA irradiation has hardly any influence on the mechanical properties of SW280/3218 composites during the manufacture and storing indoor.The surface of SW280/3218 composites is oxidized after 4/7/10days UVA irradiation;the value of O/C and the content of -C-O- as well as the surface roughness increased.Surface properties of SW280/3218 composites were influenced by UVA irradiation,which may influence the subsequent processing.
