Preparation of Polyamide Composites With Modified Carbon Black
Carbon back (CB) was used as a filler to improve the mechanical properties of polymers widely.CB was oxidized with hydrogen peroxide (CB-OH) and then modified with hexmethylene diisocryanate (CB-NH2) to improve its compatibility with polyamide 6 (PA6).The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS),element analysis (EA) and four transformed infrared spectrum (FT-IR) proved that the surface of modified CB has the –NH2 group. The composite of CB and PA6 (CB/PA),CB-OH and PA (CB-OH/PA) and CB-NH2 and PA (CB-NH2/PA) were prepared with injection molding directly. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images of composite with CB before and after modified show the better compatibility between modified CB and PA6.The test of tensile strength suggested that the modified CB can reinforce the mechanical properties of PA6.
