Research on Performance of Glass-fiber Mat of Different Binder Content

  Urea-extended phenol/formaldehyde alkaline binders was used in this paper,and the glass-fiber mats are widely used as building insulation materials,and the breaking strength as the most important property were tested by Universal testing machine.Breaking strength of glass-fiber mats for different binder content were studied and we can found that breaking strength of glass-fiber mat are effects by binder content.The breaking strength of the glass- fiber mat increased with the increase of binder content.When the binder content is less than 8%,breaking strength of glass-fiber mat appears a parabolic relationship with the binder content.When the binder content is greater than 8%,breaking strength is directly proportional to the binder content.
