ANALYSIS OF MICRO-CHANNEL HEAT EXCHANGER AS CONDENSER IN THE APPLICATION OF COMMERCIAL AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM

  Compared to traditional RTPF (Round Tube Plat Fin) coil,micro-channel heat exchanger shows various advantages during application in air-conditioning system.Not only at component level,that is low cost and light weight of aluminum,eliminating the needs of big copper manifold and multi copper connecting tubes and simple structure,the component owns the advantage in material,storage and transportation,and is easier for service and on-site replacement.But also at system level,it also has a significant advantage,efficient and compact,easy to replace conventional RTPF coil,and can improve system performance.By experiments and simulation,performance of micro-channel heat exchanger as outdoor condenser was analyzed.The impact of air flow rate,row number and pass setting on system performance was studied.The results showed that a single row of 25.4mm thick micro-channel heat exchanger can replace three to four equal-area of traditional 7.9375mm tube RTPF coil,the system energy efficiency and cooling capacity was equivalent to traditional coil,refrigerant charge reduced to 40%; a two row 25.4mm thick micro-channel heat exchanger can improve the energy efficiency of the system even more.Micro -channel heat exchanger decreased refrigerant charge volume significantly,which is environmental friendly and reduces damage of liquid flooding back to compressor,more reliable of system; its entire aluminum structure has better resistance to corrosion,and no separation needed for recycling,more favorable to environmental protection; its high heat transfer performance and low air resistance can use a smaller diameter fan and compact cabinet size.It significantly reduces the overall cost of manufactory,warehousing,transportation,environmental protection and reliability,and is increasingly being applied to the commercial air conditioning system.Micro-channel heat exchanger is a good technology solution to the growing urgent requirements of energy saving and environment protection.
