CFD STUDY ON THE AIRSIDE HEAT TRANSFER AND PRESSURE DROP OF HEAT EXCHANGER USING WIDE FIN
This study presents CFD simulations on airside heat transfer and pressure drop on heat exchanger fin in Air-Conditioner.The model is validated by comparing the simulated results and experimental data.The effects of different wide fin shapes,fin pitches and air-in velocities on heat transfer and pressure drop are analyzed.Compared to original wide slit fin,the heat transfer capacities of case 1 new fin increase 2-4% with the same pressure drop under the velocity of 1 m/s—2 m/s,while the pressure drop decreases about 15% with the same heat transfer.Therefore,we accepted the case 1 new wide fin as condenser fin shape instead of old wide slit fin.
