CFD SIMULATION AND EXPERIMENTAL STUDY FOR DIRECT-COOLING REFRIGERATOR

Three-dimensional flow and temperature distributions in direct-cooling refrigerator often affect the refrigeration performance.Obviously, refrigeration performance can be measured by costly experiments in the laboratory, while the detailed flow and temperature distribution is hard to confirm just by tests.Generally, heat leak and transfer from door gasket which play an important role in refrigerator performance, are difficult to calculate directly because of its complexity and randomicity. In this paper, the steady performance of direct-cooling refrigerator is simulated.Exact flow and temperature distributions are figured out by CFD simulation, which are helpful in optimization design.Besides,a new simulation model of door gasket is proposed. The results of CFD simulation and verification experiments indicate that the simulation model of door gasket really illuminates the temperature variations in gasket due to heat leak and transfer.Furthermore, the experiment results prove the validity of the steady simulation for direct-cooling refrigerator,so that it provides an efficient and cost saving method for design and optimization of refrigerator.
