NUMERICAL SIMULATION ON PERFORMANCE OF CO2 TWO-PHASE EJECTOR REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

The two-phase ejector was used as an expansion device in the two-phase ejector refrigeration (TPER) system to recover a part of the potential pressure energy from the high-pressure refrigerant and to increase the coefficient of performance (COP) of the system. The thermodynamic model of the two-phase ejector refrigeration (TPER) system was improved, and the performance of the CO2 TPER system was simulated. The effects of the working conditions and entrainment ratio on the system performance were analyzed, and the stability criterion of the TPER system was presented and calculated. The results show that: (1) There is a critical entrainment ratio to keep the system operating steadily under the conditions of fixed condensing and evaporating pressures.Below the critical value,an auxiliary evaporator must be added. This conclusion has been verified by the experimental results.(2) The CO2 TPER system can operate steadily in a lower entrainment ratio, and the system COP is affected strongly by the outlet temperature of the gas cooler, and there is an optimum high side pressure, under which the system COP can reach the maximum value.(3) The COPs of the CO2 TPER system under different working conditions are higher by 11%~18% respectively than these of the traditional refrigeration system under the same working conditions, especially at the condition of higher condensing pressure.
