NUMERICAL SIMULATION ON THE FLOW CHARACTERISTICS IN AN ELECTRONIC EXPANSION VALVE
Electronic expansion valves (EEVs) are widely used throttling valve in air-conditioning system.In this paper,the flow characteristics in the EEV are numerically analyzed by the 3-D flow simulation model based on the finite volume method.The relation between the EEVs opening and the volume flow rate is obtained in different pulses.By comparison of the numerical calculating results and the test data,the reliability and correctness of the simulation models is validated.The flow-opening curves are also compared in an EEV with the conical valve head and the curve valve head respectively.The results show that flow-opening linearity for EEV with the curve valve head is better than conical valve head.
