Development of an Air-Conditioning Equipment for the Electric Control Cabinet Usage

  This study applied computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and the theory of the refrigeration and air-conditioning to develop a kind of high performance air-conditioning equipment for the cooling of an electrical control cabinet.The research began with measuring the performance curve of a type of air-conditioning equipment and evaluating the cooling capability,in order to understand the characteristics of the air-conditioning equipment.A simulation was then conducted via CFD software.Based on the drawbacks of the inner flow files observed by the simulation results,further improvements on the design and simulation analysis on the inner layouts of the air-conditioning equipment were conducted,and the improved air-conditioning equipment was further fabricated.According to the results of the air-conditioning performance tests,a smoother air-duct design and well-condensed cooling would reduce the power consumption as well as increase the energy efficiency of the air-conditioning equipment,thus achieving the benefits of energy savings and the cooling of the electrical control cabinet.
