THE RESEARCH OF A NOVEL GLCC USED BEFORE EVAPORATOR IN REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
Gas-Liquid Cylindrical Cyclone (GLCC) separates two-phase flow due to the centrifugal force which are using more and more widely because of its simple, high performance. In this work,a novel GLCC was proposed which inlet and liquid outlet are symmetric. It means each of them can be used as inlet pipe and mixture incoming flow from either one can achieve high performance.GLCC installed before evaporator separates two-phase refrigerant and removes the vapor from the mixture to makes evaporator compact by improving its heat exchange efficiency. It also increases unit mass refrigeration capacity and decreases evaporator pressure drop, which reduces compressor work.Eulerian multiphase model and Reynolds Stress Turbulence model applied in the CFD simulation. The hydrodynamics of two-phase flow behavior such as velocity, phase volume distribution in the novel GLCC have been studied by numerical calculation.Experimental data shows good agreement with respect to the gas outlet quality which implying that the GLCC flow field was also simulated correctly.Add an optimized baffle to avoid the over-flow phenomenon. The effect of refrigerant mass flow rate, inlet quality, the location of the inlet and liquid outlet and the side length of the inlet are studied in this paper.Thought the optimization, the gas outlet quality is higher than 0.9.
