EXPERIMENTAL ASSESSMENT OF AIR SOURCE HPWH USING AN INVERTER-FED COMPRESSOR UNDER DIFFERENT WATER INLET TEMPERATURE

  In this study,an air source directly heating type heat pump water heater (HPWH) with an inverter-fed compressor was presented.This prototype uses a scroll compressor controlled by a driver and an electronic expansion valve (EEV) with R410A refrigerant.Variation of coefficient of performance (COP) on different water inlet temperatures were measured and analyzed with fixed heating capacity.Dry and wet bulb temperatures were set according to CNS 15466∶2011 test conditions in a controlled chamber.The results show that the COP of HPWH was decreasing with increasing of inlet water temperature.Comparing fixed heating capacity setting with capacity of fixed compressor speed,the changing trend of COP was similar and the performance difference less than 0.72% between 15℃ to 50℃ water side inlet temperature conditions in rated condition of air side,and at rated condition of CNS 15466,the measured COP of this developed system is 4.57 and heating capacity is 6.12 kilowatt.
