Numerical simulation of two-phase heat transfer and pressure drop of R600a in microchannel tube under low mass flux and low temperature

  Two-phase flow simulation is still a challenge for heat transfer field.In this paper,Two-phase heat transfer and flow in microchannel tube will be studied numerically using R600a as working fluid under low mass flux and low temperature conditions.Based on the flow pattern analysis with traditional tube method,a stratified-flow condition is selected according to the mass flux.A user defined function (UDF) procedure will be developed.The analysis results show that the deviation of the traditional tube correlations are very big and the trend is inconsistent.The CFD simulation results are compared with the calculated results from the traditional tube and high mass flux correlations.The results show that the numerical model is reasonable and acceptable.
