PREDICTION FOR SATURATED FLOW BOILING HEAT TRANSFER IN MINI-CHANNELS
Research advances of flow boiling heat transfer in mini-channels in recent years were reviewed.A database on experimental results of saturated-flow boiling in mini-channels was set up with 3839 data points,9 different refrigerants,and covers a wide range of optional conditions.Most inner diameters in this database is within 0.5 mm and 3 mm.12 available flow boiling heat transfer correlations were addressed and evaluated against the database in this study.Results showed that these existing correlations do not have satisfactory accuracy.Most of them have mean absolute deviation above 30%.Superposition correlations predicted heat transfer coefficient better relatively and we considered that superposition correlations were applicable to the conditions contained in our database.Reynolds number of liquid phase is calculated by means of vapor velocity and slip velocity ratio.Based on this definition of Reynolds number of liquid phase,a new correlation for predicting flow boiling heat transfer coefficients was proposed by authors.A mean absolute error of 20.9% was achieved with this new correlation.
