BOILING HEAT TRANSFER AND PRESSURE DROP OF R-1234YF IN A SMALL HORIZONTAL TUBE OF 1.5 MM INNER DIAMETER

  An experimental study was performed the two-phase flow boiling heat transfer and pressure drop for R-1234yf in horizontal circular small tube.The local heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop were obtained for heat fluxes ranging from 10–35 kW m-2,mass fluxes ranging from 100–650 kg m-2 s-1,saturation temperatures of 10 and 15℃,and quality up to 1.0.The test section was made of stainless steel tubes with inner diameter of 1.5 mm and length of 1000 mm.The test results showed the effect of heat flux,inner tube diameter and saturation temperature on heat transfer coefficient.Nucleate boiling heat transfer contribution was predominant,especially at low quality region,and laminar flow appeared in the evaporative small tubes.The experimental results were compared against four existing heat transfer coefficient.The experimental pressure drop was agreed well with that predicted by Lockhart Martinelli correlation.
