PERFORMANCE OF A RESIDENTIAL HEAT PUMP WITH LOW GWP REFRIGERANT
HFC refrigerants which have high global warming potential (GWP) might be replaced with low GWP refrigerant according to Kyoto protocol.R-32 is one of the candidates with GWP of 650.The present study investigated the performance of a residential heat pump by applying R-32 as one of replacements of R-410A.The study investigated experimentally the performance of a residential heat pump by applying R-32 as one of replacements of R-410A.The experimental study shows that the optimum refrigerant charge amount for R-32 system is less by 20-30% than that for R-410A system; Capacity and COP of R-32 system is close to those of R-410A.The compressor discharge temperatures of R-32 system were higher by 18~25℃ than those of R-410A system.R-32 might be one of potential candidates as replacement of R-410A for residential heat pump system.
