AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF LOW TEMPERATURE RADIANT FOR SENSIBLE COOLING
The study investigated experimentally the feasibility of sensible cooling by using low temperature radiation floor.A radiant floor with embedded secondary refrigerant piping was tested for sensible cooling performance.Analysis of radiant heat exchange between the surfaces is presented. The lower mean radiant temperature thus resulted from the radiant floor was analyzed for the feasibility of sensible comfort.Different configuration cool surfaces are compared for the effectiveness of radiant heat exchange. The results of the experimental investigation show that larger radiant surface can increase the cooling capacity of the radiant floor. Moreover the larger the temperature difference between the radiant floor and the walls, the higher rate of radiant cooling can be achieved. The per unit area cooling capacityof the radiant cooling module has beenmeasured to be as high as 30W/㎡.
