A GENERAL DISTRIBUTED-PARAMETER MODEL FOR TRANSIENT SIMULATION OF FINNED TUBE HEAT EXCHANGERS WITH ARBITRARY TUBE CIRCUITRY
Transient modeling of finned tube heat exchangers is an efficient approach to the control-oriented design of air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment.A general model based on distributed-parameter method is developed to describe the transient behavior of finned tube heat exchanger with any refrigerant circuit arrangement.A direct mathematical representation method of tube circuits, the so-called Flow Path Array method, has been presented to describe the calculation sequence of the tubes in the model.A predictor-corrector algorithm is developed to obtain the numerical solutions of the model. An experimental refrigeration system using R410A is built,on which the performance test of heat exchangers are made to validate the simulation results of the model. The comparison has shown that a good agreement is obtained between the experiment and simulation results.
