Omega-3 Fatty Acids Improves Oxidative Stress in Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
Fish oil has beneficial effects in a number of disease states.It was reported that levels of long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids n-3 LC PUFA including eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) were decreased in infertile women.Objectives of this study were to determine the effects of omega-3 fatty acids supplementation on some oxidative stress markers such as serum total antioxidant capacity (TAC),malondialdehyde (MDA) and paraoxonase 1 (PON1) activity in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
