Considering Reliability in the Design of Incremental Manufacturing Cells
This paper proposes a method for simultaneously forming cell formation in the line layout with minimum cycle time and constructing manufacturing cell with minimum system failure rate.We consider the conversion of cell formation is incremental and part operations can be processed on alternative machines.Therefore,machine failures should be taken into account during designing of cell formation to improve overall performance of the system.A bi-objective mathematical model is presented.An ε-constraint method is then applied to solve the model and to generate the non-dominated solutions.Some numerical examples are conducted to illustrate the application of model.
