Platinum-group elements geochemistry of Tulaergen Cu-Ni sulphide deposit in East Tianshan,Xinjiang, northwest China
The Tulaergen Cu-Ni sulphide deposit hosted in ultramafic intrusion is located in the east of Juluotage ductile shear zone at the northern of the East Tianshan,NW China. The sulphide ores are mainly disseminated, massive and net-textured.Pd/Ir ratios of Tulaergen rocks and ores range from 17 to 1426,and those of some massive, disseminated and net-textured ores are more than 100,which indicate that the ores may be altered by late hydrothermal fluids. The primary magma of the Tulaergen intrusion is a high-MgO basalt. Our calculations indicate that if the primary magma similar to picrite contains 10.86 ppb Pt,9.54 ppb Pd,0.76 ppb Ir and 200 ppm Cu,0.012% prior sulphide removal would result in the obviously declined contents of PGE in residual magma with 0.99 ppb Pt,0.87 ppb Pd,and 0.07 ppb Ir.
