PGE-Cu-Ni-bearing Monchegorsky layered mafic-ultramafic complex:an example of combination of magmatic and epigenetic ore deposits
Early Paleoproterozoic Monchegorsky complex (MC) is formed by two layered mafic-ultramafic intrusions of different age: Monchegorsky Pluton (2.5 Ga) and Main Ridge Мassif (2.46 Ga),divided by large fault. Both intrusions derived from melts of siliceous high-Mg series, however, are characterized by different cumulate stratigraphy.Because MC got to zone of the middle Paleoproterozoic (2.0-1.9 Ga) regional Central-Kola Fault,it represent by collage of tectonic slices now, which rocks were in a variable degree underwent by metamorphic alteration in processes of deformation.
