Spatial Distribution of Siderophile Elements and Genesis of The Jinchuan Ni-Cu-(PGE) Sulfide Deposit
The Jinchuan intrusion hosts the largest single magmatic Ni deposit in the world. It is characterized by small olivine-rich ultramafic intrusion in Longshoushan terrane in the southwestern part of the North China Craton.Olivine in the intrusion has been variably converted to mixtures of serpentine and fine-grained magnetite.Interstitial pyroxene and minor plagioclase have been altered to mixtures of chlorite, amphibole, epidote, etc.Pyrrhotite, pentlandite, and chalcopyrite are the main interstitial sulfide minerals surrounding olivine grains forming net-textured and disseminated sulfide ores.
