Origin of the Huangshan Cu-Ni sulfide deposit,NW China

Huangshan-Jingerquan Ni-Cu sulphide deposit belt is located in northern Tianshan Late Paleozoic orogenic belt at the southern margin of the Central Asian orogenic belt. The total metal reserves of Ni and Cu in the belt are more than 1 million tons, making it the second largest Ni-Cu resource after the Jinchuan deposit. The Huangshan Cu-Ni ore deposit is a large deposit in the Huangshan-Jingerquan Ni-Cu sulphide deposit belt.It contains 0.32 million tons Ni with average grade of 0.49% and 0.18 million tons Cu with average grade of 0.31% (Li et al.,1989).Geochemical characteristics of the Huangshan intrusive rocks indicate a significant contribution of crustal contamination, which might be the key trigger mechanisms for S saturation in the deposit.
