Characteristics of Niubiziliang Cu-Ni sulfide deposit and its genesis from fractional crystallization and crustal contamination
Niubiziliang Cu-Ni sulfide deposit is located in northwestern Qaidam Block. The Niubiziliang intrusion is irregular shaped with east-west extension and it consists of three segments cut by the NW and NEE trending faults. Many sub-meters to millimeter xenoliths of wall rocks were found in the intrusion. The intrusion is composed of plagioclase lherzolite, hornblende lherzolite, wehrlite, olivine websterite, olivine gabbro, olivine amphobolite, websterite, gabbro, leucogabbro, quartz diorite and tonalite. The degree of rocks in segment Ⅰ and Ⅱ is basic than segment Ⅲ.The sulfide ores are mainly hosted in the peridotites and olivine gabbro of the segment Ⅱ.They have mainly star-like,sparsely disseminated, and disseminated textures.Magmatic differentiation and significant crustal contamination leading to sulfide saturation and sulfide melt segregation.
