An Enrichment Programme for Orientation of Pre-Service Secondary School Teachers to the Emerging Social Contexts

  The dynamic and evolving nature of modem society has implications for all institutions and individuals.The present research has focused on developing and implementing an Enrichment Programmefor Pre-Service Secondary School teachers to provide experiences that focus on establishing linkages between abstraction (Theoretical concepts) and concretization (practical situations/events).To go beyond the information given,a variety of experiential exposures were provided to raise awareness,improve sensitivity and build capacities of the pre-service teachers.This study utilized a process-driven methodology and its influence was assessed using both qualitative and quantitative approaches.The analysis and interpretation of the data collected indicates that positive consequences of educational experiences can be achieved (Bar-On,2003) for all-round development of personality.
